Description:
The ridge hike from Heimgarten to Herzogstand is one of the most beautiful mountain hikes in the Bavarian Alps for me. The path is not difficult and secured with a steel cable railing in some places, so also doable with slightly older children - it's a mountain hike. Many use the Herzogstand cable car and go the ridge there and back - nice thing. Many take the path from Walchensee up to Heimgarten, then the ridge and then down either on foot or by cable car; also a nice thing.
