My story.
So, it's the third time I visit Gran Paradiso but the first with skis, since the huts opened early I decided to do this wonderful tour. Well, reached the parking lot at Le Pont 1950m in Valle Valsavarenche AO, once parked I prepare suitable clothing for ski mountaineering, we start, snow right from the parking lot, going along Savare stream, after about 500m turn left and follow the gully climbing the bottom until I can deviate right (steep) to take the royal mule track, which is followed to the hut (slopes gradually less steep). While climbing the gully I reach three young people struggling with the ascent in ski boots without crampons, I advise them to put on crampons, well, I continue my ascent traversing steep slopes, gradually less steep to Rifugio Vittorio Emanuele II. Lots of people at the hut, meet the manager, he gives me the bedroom key, then dinner with other alpinists-hikers of various levels, at dinner I end up at the table with 3 French, 2 English and one Italian who was the Alpine Guide for those two English, so evening with chats eating and drinking, excellent dinner good hut cooks. In front of a magnificent serac cross this ridge (separating Gran Paradiso Glacier from Laveciau), pass base of Becca di Moncorvé and on wide gradually less steep slopes climb the last stretch of glacier. Up there lots of people hard to cross slightly dangerous rocks in an almost mountaineering stretch.
