Description: The Geogelului Gorges are located in the Apuseni Mountains, Trascău Massif. The waters have carved the limestone massif over a length of one kilometer. The walls come as close as 3 m to each other over a 30-meter section. Crossing the gorges can only be done through water. The gorges are declared a natural reserve and shelter a multitude of protected species and habitats, included in the Natura 2000 Trascău Site. Access is from the village of După Deal, Ponor Commune or from the village of Cheia, Rîmeț Commune. It is recommended to traverse the gorges with rubber boots in summer when the stream has low flow rates.
