Description:
The Füzér Castle rises on a steep-sided volcanic cone in the easternmost part of the Zemplén Mountains. The castle was built in the early 13th century, making it one of Hungary's earliest stone castles. Its historical significance is shown by the fact that crown guard Péter Perényi brought the Holy Crown here after the Battle of Mohács.
