Description:
Forte Campolongo was a fortress built to defend the Italian border against the Austro-Hungarian Empire (along the border line now between Vicenza province and Trentino) at 1,720 meters altitude on the summit of the homonymous mountain rising on the right side of the middle Val d'Astico. The fort is in the municipality of Rotzo and overlooks with sheer walls the underlying Val d'Assa. Recently restored thanks to the Ecomuseum Great War of the Vicentine Prealps project.
