From Parcines to Merano via Castel Tirolo

The itinerary starts from the village of Parcines, climbs above Lagundo, and reaches Castel Tirolo. In this section, there are beautiful panoramas over the Merano basin, walks among apple and vine fields, along the Lagundo Waalweg, and a visit to the pretty San Pietro church. At Castel Tirolo, one can visit the fascinating historical-cultural museum of the Province of Bolzano or watch flight demonstrations at the Avifauna Recovery Center. On the descent to Merano, the beautiful Tappeiner Walkway is followed, named after its creator and financier Dr. Franz Tappeiner from Lasa in Val Venosta.
