Extremely difficult Ferrata “Srce Veleža” is about 600 meters long, requiring to overcome about 400 meters of elevation gain on cables. The ferrata was built by members of PD “Treskavica” from Sarajevo with partners. The rocks on the ascent are quite crumbly, so larger groups should be avoided on the ferrata. During the ascent, a group should maintain the smallest possible distance between climbers and actively care for other climbers who may be ascending behind them. As essential equipment for conquering this ferrata, the use of a self-belay set and at least one “panic handle” for anchoring is recommended so that the climber can rest in case of loss of strength.
