This is our second attempt at the topic. Previously in 2019 we only managed the first section of the ferrata and due to worsening visibility (at 3000 m a.s.l.) returned the same way down. This time we had excellent weather and spent the whole day enjoying it. The route to the start of the ferrata in the Sella Massif starts from Hotel MariaFlora. There's a trail sign behind the hotel. It takes about 45 minutes of rocky slope to reach the ferrata start. Then first ferrata section, plateau crossing to the second section start. Landscape is lunar-like. Even in summer snow lingers here and there. After the second section you reach Piz Selva summit (2941 m a.s.l.). For descent follow trail 649 to Passo Sella. En route there's another section secured by steel cables, marked in ferrata guide as very easy Sentiero attrezzato Pian de Siela. The trail is highly varied and rocky. Views magnificent. Worth completing fully. Via Ferrata Mesules is also listed as Pößnecker Klettersteig.
