Description:
29-03-2022: Elevation gain: mt. 450 Route: Km 8.500. The hike will take us to visit unexpectedly wild places a stone's throw from the foothill villages, where important strategic settlements existed since antiquity. Start west of Farra di Soligo at the intersection of via Faverei and via San Nicolò. Following the signs indicating “n.3 Gor della Cuna”, take a country road that later becomes a trail, along the right orographic side of the Rui Stort stream. In a few minutes enter a small canyon made of high conglomerate walls and zigzag to Gor della Cuna, whose name derives from the waterfall that, with its erosive action on the rock, has created a suggestive environment. Continue through the vineyards until meeting the Casetta in the Vanal locality, splendid rural farmhouse. Leave trail n.3 to follow Alpine trail n.4 which reaches another dwelling immersed among olive trees then arriving at the Vedette trail. The view is truly spectacular on the hills dotted with farmhouses and winding lanes, while the Torri di Credazzo appear in the distance. Continue east along the Vedette ridge line, passing Monte Pertegar, Forcella Xocco, Pian Serafin, Colesie and Col Vinal, then at Forcella San Martino descend zigzagging among the southern vineyards until reaching a saddle where the Crepe trail starts. This will take us close to Col della Porchera, where turn right again through vineyards descending to Borgo Grotta. From here, following via Rialto and via San Nicolò, pass in front of Villa Savoini and Villa Caragiani – Badoer completing the ring.
