In August 2015, Roger Schäli, Robert Jasper, and Simon Gietl redpointed the hardest route on the Eiger to date. Schäli and Jasper had equipped the 33-pitch Odyssey as early as 2009. Unfavorable conditions made a free ascent impossible at that time.
