A mountain that needs no introduction for alpinists and mountain lovers in general: Barre des Écrins! This video is dedicated to the ascent done on 10-11-12 August 2012. I had a score to settle with this grandiose mountain which is now closed... after an unlucky attempt years ago, when I had to settle (only) for the ascent to Dome de Neige des Écrins. First day up from Pre de Madame Carle to Refuge des Écrins, passing Refuge du Glacier Blanc and the first stretch of Glacier Blanc. Second day to Barre des Écrins via Glacier Blanc and the splendid West ridge, descent same way, one rappel to descend to Breche Lory, back to Refuge des Écrins. Third day descent from Refuge des Écrins to Pre de Madame Carle. Unforgettable trip! Great satisfaction for all three... thanks Barre!
