Description: Route carried out by the Annapurna mountain group from Elda-Petrer
In the north of Granada province, the Guadix and Baza regions are dominated by a semi-desert territory (4.722 km2) trapped between the summits of Sierra Nevada, Cazorla, and Baza. After tens of millions of years submerged under water, this plain of clays and marls emerged, forming a large depression sculpted into rocky outcrops, gorges, river canyons, ridges, and badlands amid thousands of shapes and three colors: ochre, grayish, and reddish. In other words, a tribute to erosion that was long overdue for this distinction.
