Croda Longa Loop from Borgo Piccin

The impervious southern slope of Col Visentin features an impressive ramification of old trails covering the area between Revine and Sella di Fadalto. They are hard trails due to the steepness and decidedly rugged environment. This week's proposal is a medium difficulty loop that includes the passage through Burela, a magnificent corridor between rocks that allows overcoming the limestone block of Croda Longa. We will also visit Caloniche di Sotto. Starting from Borgo Piccin, near Lago Morto where there is a convenient parking lot. Follow clockwise the road that circles the lake and leave it after a few minutes near a house in Borgo Séoi. Climb trail no. 1045 that cuts diagonally the slope northeast, with steep sections. After encountering the first rocky signs of Croda Longa, the trail turns left to enter Burela, the crack that allows overcoming the rocky jump. A steel cord facilitates the ascent. Then the trail becomes gentler until connecting with marker no. 985 Troi de le Casere which we take downhill arriving at Caloniche di Sotto. A quick tour through the alleys of the small now uninhabited village, then back a few hundred meters to take the road directly to Lago Morto. Past Casa Rossa, shortly reach the Borgo Piccin parking lot to conclude the loop.
