Description:
In Sassetot and Petites Dalles, the Côte d'Albâtre is that of Sissi. From castle to old port, from forests to cliffs, a hike in the footsteps of a star. Sissi in Normandy? Who would have thought! Yet it's true! The famous Austrian empress, with whom the French have been smitten since the famous cinematic trilogy, did indeed spend her summer of 1875 there for health reasons. A handful of weeks whose memory persists a century and a half later in the age of 5G and Covid-19. This shows how much the invisible presence of this royal and romantic icon permeates this small piece of territory stretching between Sassetot-le-Mauconduit, Saint-Pierre-en-Port, and the Petites and Grandes Dalles. A presence that does not eclipse the certain landscape and heritage interest of this small loop that climbs to the high cliffs of the Côte d'Albâtre. A route between land and sea, full of contrasts and delicately intimate, to savor a piece of Seine-Maritime facing the open sea. Difficulty: medium
