Halfway between Ajaccio and Corte via RT20 (territorial road) crossing the Vizzavona pass at 1,163 m, the village of Bocognano (484 inhabitants) occupies a territory girded by the mountain chains of the Monte d'Oro massif to the north and the Monte Renoso massif to the south, through which the Gravona flows. Bocognano is renowned for its privileged location at the foot of Monte d'Oro (the Monte d’Oro/Vizzavona area is classified as Natura 2000 site), its chestnut groves, the Bride's Veil waterfall and the Richjusa canyoning site.
