Description:
Beautiful and lucky hike under an azure sky. Parked at Sciöcc locality in Cusio (1515 m) and taken the easy trail 108, arriving at the foot of Denti della Vecchia, we realized we didn't have the adequate gear to cross the completely snow-covered channel. Turned back and climbed 107 to Passo Salmurano, here too no way to Benigni, so decided to return. When the lucky encounter with Giancarlo, exquisite and very pleasant person as well as great expert of these mountains, whom we heartily thank, resolved the situation. Following him, we climbed a steep gully towards the north end of Denti della Vecchia (winter route), and from there to Benigni and the still snow-covered Cima Piazzotti. Descent following the south side along a stunning fully snow-covered gully, ancient smugglers' route, until rejoining 108 and return to Sciöcc. Walked for about 6 hours covering a total elevation gain of 980 m and about 14 km. (Sempreverde MAURO)
