Description:
The name 'Becco di Mezzodí' derives from the fact that at 12 o'clock the sun is vertical on this sharp peak.
In antiquity it seems it was a strategic astronomical point to identify the various constellations of the universe. A minor peak compared to the great surrounding mountains, but its strategic position, in the center of the great amphitheater surrounding the highest Dolomite mountains like Croda Rossa, Cristallo, Tre Cime di Lavaredo, Antelao, Pelmo, Civetta and Marmolada make this mountain have a very special charm. ♥️
