Description:
The castle of Németújvár (Güssing) is the most spectacular castle of the former Vas county, today a popular tourist attraction in southern Burgenland. Not far from the Őrség region, 18 km from Szentgotthárd, it rises imposingly above the town on a steep volcanic cone. The enchanting panoramic view from the castle walls and the rich exhibitions of the castle museum make the ancient nest of the Batthyány family an unmissable sight.
