Wed, 11.05.2022 Canyonlands NP, Maze, Day 2, Land of Standing Rock loop
At 7:20 AM we get up after a quiet night and prepare our breakfast. We discuss the upcoming day; actually, we want to hike an inner loop today and take a close look at the Chocolate Drops. There is supposed to be a path down at the end. However, it is said to be hard to find and also very difficult to traverse. This part comes only at the end of our loop, which ultimately seems too uncertain for us. After yesterday's descent, we don't want to take any risks. The tents stay up today. Thus, we have less weight to carry, although everyone takes their food sack so that the food is safe.
