Description:
Csóványos, at 938 meters, is the highest peak of the Börzsöny, thus the 20th highest mountain peak in Hungary.
The 22-meter-high lookout tower has a core of an old geodetic concrete cylinder: previously, its dangerous, rusty iron ladders had to be climbed for the panorama. Finally, Ipoly Erdő Zrt. renovated it. The external structure built around the now spiral staircase tower has numerous information boards on some floors about the Börzsöny forests, wildlife, toponymy, ethnography, and geology.
