On the fourteenth tour day, we leave Dachstein and Ramsau and set off together towards Zugspitze, the last station of our Alpine tour this year. Unfortunately, the "Jubiläumsgrat" mission is on the brink. For one thing, it is raining today for the first time in over three weeks, and torrentially so. Temperatures drop suddenly by almost 20 degrees. On the other hand, the weather forecasts give us only one chance for the famous ridge crossing. Meanwhile, Erik has to leave us and does not yet know if he can join the tour this weekend, whereas Ralf and I check into a pension in Grainau near Garmisch-Partenkirchen in the early afternoon.
