The Funkoff are a marching band born in Vicchio (FI) in 1998, from an idea by saxophonist Dario Cecchini.

To the matrix of bandistic origin, the Funkoff combine different rhythms, fusing funky, soul, jazz, latin and rock, creating an interesting energetic and peculiar musical mix. They are inspired by the tradition of New Orleans street bands and artists like Maceo Parker, James Brown and Motown ones. Different rhythms and sounds blend into harmonic and formal structures, where space for improvisation is often inserted into research compositional contexts, without preconceptions of style and sound. The project features original choreographies always accompanying the music, so the musicians dance while playing, parading or singing on stage.
