Wedge-shaped between the provinces of Bergamo and Brescia, at the end of Valcamonica, extends the wide lake basin of Lake Iseo, also known as Sebino.
Its waters lap the shores of Monte Isola, Italy's largest lake island, unique in Europe for its elevation and characterized by typically Mediterranean vegetation that sees it covered in broom flowers with the arrival of spring and blooming with heather in autumn. Intriguing and easy to walk is the varied network of paths that from the island's inhabited center lead to the Sanctuary of the Madonna di Ceriola, built at 400 m above lake level, from which an unmissable panorama is enjoyed.
