Arpino is one of the oldest centers in the province of Frosinone. Its height above the valley allows admiring an enchanting panorama. Fortified city, the acropolis rises in the Civitavecchia location, at 630 m., stronghold of the Volsci, Samnites and Romans with the characteristic polygonal or 'cyclopean' walls, in which an original pointed arch door opens. The vast Arpinate territory gave birth to men who distinguished themselves in Roman politics, Gaius Marius, M. Tullius Cicero and Marcus Vipsanius Agrippa.
