Stari grad is 493 meter high peak. The peak is located 0.5 km north from the center of Sela pri Šumberku and 1.1 km south-southwest from the center of Velike Dole. The nearest mountain hut is Lavričeva koča na Gradišču, located 9km northwest. Kocljevi is a bit further away. The peak is located northeast of the valley Ribniška dolina.
