Oliver Tič will step into the Sahara. He wants to walk along the Atlantic Ocean. Nevertheless, there is a lot of wind there that carries sand through the air and blocks roads. He has also acquired special clothing to prevent sand from entering the body. The desert (Sahara) is covered by countries: Morocco, Western Sahara (claimed by Morocco), Mauritania and Senegal. It's 1,700 km of desert. On one of the pictures you can see the gate to the desert, which is in the city of Guelmim. From Oliver's videos it is evident that quite a few cyclists cross the desert. In this part of the world there is no water, no food every ten kilometers. We'll see how Oliver will manage in this desert. Probably cars, trucks and also cyclists drive on these roads. Pedestrians probably can't be there very often.
Millions of years ago, Slovenia was also in the area of today's Morocco, Turkey ... This is proven by the Oligocene clay (green marl) in Udinboršt and its surroundings (municipality of Naklo, Tržič, Kranj). Near Podnart there is the very famous
Plaznica stream, where they discover fossils from the sea of that time, which covered Slovenia when it was in a tropical climate near the equator.
