Sun rising or setting? And which mountains on the left are illuminated?

Already last Sunday on south slope some small snow patches that can be bypassed. Climbing path through Turski žleb goes above snowfield. Pic shows view from Mala Rinka to Križ.

Today on Križ. On usual approach from Savinjsko sedlo conditions normal as described. In first half of "ferrata" still one snow patch, but bypass without problem. Winter gear not needed. Protections in perfect condition. :-) :-)

That's right, Johannisberg. Another picture from a more touristy perspective. Carry on.

Well, not Venediger. Hint: Slovenian Janez doesn't have his mountain, but the Austrian one does.

Not Hochalmspitze. The state border between Salzburg and ... runs over the summit

Somehow the easiest accessible is really Ankogel. But with stable dry weather, because the summit ridge in wind and verglas becomes quite dangerous. Last year I was at the top early July and during shower ice rain started falling and hurricane wind was blowing. Also Gr. Hafner from Maltatal and Sauleck from Dosnertal are not that demanding (technically easier than Ankogel) but ascents are longer and somewhat more strenuous. For me personally as intro over 3000m the ascent to Ankogel was the best. On the way you have a bit of everything. A little glacier (if you want) and free climbing on the summit ridge.
