Today despite a slightly worse weather forecast I visited this peak above Kofce planina. Snow was hard and not icy. Track was snowed over in some places. Strong wind was blowing on the top. Few visitors to the peak but quite a few reach the hut.

Yesterday morning the weather cleared up a bit after a long time, so I headed to Šentanski vrh, which is only five minutes from the Dobrča summit. The view there is much nicer. About 10 cm of dry snow fell overnight and causes no problems.

Nice. Exactly the same I did yesterday except clear sky, sadly windy on top.

Past Matizovec to Kofce along the ridge to Kofce Gora and Veliki Vrh. Mixed conditions. Not much new snow but the wind did its thing. Being first in the morning, I sank in quite a bit, but had sun on top and almost no wind.

Today I was at V. Zelnarica via Štapce, path without issues but really between Mala and V. Zelnarica you have to cross about a hundred meters of snow, where the slope is quite steep, winter gear is mandatory. Descent via the valley behind Kopica has still quite some snow but is unproblematic.

SunnyDay, with your problem I would try changing the inner insole.

I would ask, probably it's 10km in one direction?

Yesterday, trekking poles were found at Ljubelj parking, someone forgot them.

Today I think it was the 18th in a row hike.

Today Begunjščica was well visited, mostly ski tourers, hikers just a few. Up via central and packed well to gully entrance. In the gully no ice just dry unprocessed snow, track made by ski tourers. Returned via Šentanec. On summit quite windy.

The second part of the vacation we spent in the Dolomites. Five days five goals: First day Monte Paterno, second day Piz Boe, third Lake Sorapiss, fourth Tofana di Rozes and last fifth Averau. In one word wonderful, we were there for the first time but surely not the last.

Today up y-lon (not left nor right branch, somewhere in between) then down central. Some new dry snow. No predecessors in y-lon today, so we two plus someone (met before gully entrance) alternately broke trail. Thanks for the company. Central trampled (highway).

What are conditions like in this area? Especially how much snow?

Today I went to Begunjščica via central gor, snow untreated, in the gully itself and higher almost no snow all blown away, almost bare and quite annoying. Returned via Kalvarija to pl. Prevala. In the forest snow sinks to knees. Path from Prevala to Ljubelj a bit trodden, snow mushy. At the top a mountaineer from the hut at Roblek said it was hard walking, snow sinks to knees and over.

Today before forecasted stronger wind, headed to Stenar. Up via Stenarska vratica, snow starts around 1900m, frozen. Traverse also frozen. Back via Sovatna, little frozen snow, aids out then snow runs out. Used full winter gear.
