Does anyone have info from which starting points the path is most frequented? Or which is that most popular starting point?

Pikica1

Those are inexperienced hikers who in summer rush to mountains in flip-flops, in winter even without winter gear.

SamoK, do I need to explain something to you...

Don't you understand that I'll head to Kredarica with my colleague exclusively if the path is dry and if someone confirms it to me, I'll just go, without crampons and without ice axe. As soon as I notice a snow patch that might be impassable, I'll turn around and go back, because I'm cautious by nature anyway.

And making comparisons here with the two deceased mountaineers is ridiculous, because they chose a completely different snowy path (don't know, didn't read, but definitely didn't go on the dry path from Krma to Kredarica).

Damn, wouldn't say it if you were asking about winter gear in February (that would be pure madness), but now, when mountains don't have real winter yet, there are still quite a few dry paths and at this time opportunity to take even someone not so experienced a bit higher to see snowy mountains up close, that's really a crime, huh?

Thanks Franci and julika, there are still some real people up here.

The question is stupid only from that viewpoint because there's already an answer on the previous page that I overlooked and apologize. Really need to whip oneself right away. I myself have an alpine course and quite some winter climbing experience, so no, not a typical rep of 'you know who'.

I was asking because I'm taking a colleague up who hasn't been in mountains 'in winter' yet and wants to see snowy Triglav up close. And if someone had even answered there's some bigger snow traverse on the path somewhere, we'd both stay home or visit something lower. But for her to buy crampons now and find out at the end the path is dry, doesn't make sense to me since winter doesn't draw her to mountains anyway.

But obviously too hard for someone who's been up recently to write in one sentence if the path is completely dry or not, instead right away allergic to everything that crawls and goes on this portal.

And once again, overlooked the answer on previous page, I apologize.

Ok, so GPS to bypass the snow patch, and hope no fog.

Thanks for info.

Is the path to Kredarica from Krma currently dry or are crampons still needed?

Thanks smile

What about the path to Kredarica from Krma?

Are crampons mandatory?

It was the same on Sunday.

Ascent to forget, in short.

Looking for a mountaineer m/f with very good physical condition for Sunday ascent to Razor.

ZS!

Great, thanks for the info.

Probably some other mountain will fall then. :P

I think we need to make use of this sunny week too.

Is there any snow on Razor? Is the path from Vrata nicely passable?

That's really worthy of respect.

How did you start with mountain running? I for example walk very fast into the mountains, but to start running, I run out of steam right away.

Top-notch.

It seems we watched you from Špik. big

Today the weather was really totally 'clear'. Don't know if I've experienced such before.

One more thing.

Yesterday I took my cousin, who had been highest on Viševnik and Debeli peči. Two weeks before Triglav he went to Šmarna gora every day. What happened?

At the top of Triglav he got a strong headache and completely exhausted and weakened he barely made it to the Krma valley.

It's true though that we went for one day.
