Yesterday in wonderful sunny weather I walked the shorter of two Cistercians' trails, which were newly opened in September this year. Start and finish in Stična, where there is also an information board with QR codes. The trail is marked with yellow rosettes, which are occasionally very sparse, so the loaded trail on the phone is very helpful. At Lavričeva koča there were quite a few visitors, also very good food, otherwise alone on the whole trail. Well, we saw one jumping roe deer. The forest is clad in wonderful autumn colors. From Pristava the snow-covered mountains were nicely visible. Interesting recreation just a 20-minute car drive from home. The trail is 14 km long and has almost 500 meters of elevation gain.

1. 7. 2022 on Konjski vrh. Starting point at the end of Žlan village, where there is a large gravel parking lot. The day was sunny and very warm. Only upon reaching the ridge did the wind start blowing. The path is very well marked, but locally quite lush vegetation along it. Currently it's almost a real botanical paradise along the entire trail.

On planina Osredki livestock is grazing, both ponds by the hut and a bit higher are filled with water. We met no one to the summit or further to Črna prst.

After reaching the ridge the path first goes to the south side and descends, there are two sections with fixed cables and one part with some pegs. The path otherwise without features.

Konjski vrh rises just a few minutes above the "main trail" between Rodica and Črna prst. Currently covered with lush grass in which beautiful dark gentians hide. The summit is really a great viewpoint far around. Lots of buzzing insects on top, otherwise peace and wonderful views.

Return past Črna prst and Orožnova hut and circular back to the starting point. On the way we "collected" quite a few ticks. Safe travels to all.

On the last day of the year to Vrh Vrata in the Kriška gora range. Started at Golnik. Low temperatures, warm sun shining, almost no wind. The steepness doesn't spare to the top and hasn't changed at all over the years. Excellent service in the hut. Path dry, only some icy patches towards the top which don't pose problems. Vrh Vrata is really a nice viewpoint in all directions. Happy and safe to all.

Long time no post on this topic, me too with a 1-month delay. Some snapshots from the autumn path to Okrešelj (28. 10. 2025) and a bit further towards Kamniško sedlo. The path is renovated. Of course, the current situation on the path is completely different.

On Sunday it was wonderful! Real winter atmosphere.
Clear, cold, also windy, lots of visitors, service excellent. Path otherwise without features. Views from the top amazingly beautiful and boundless.

The plan was to go from Andrejev dom on Slemen, but due to the frozen road we stopped a good kilometer earlier.

Late start, so return already in the dark.

Yesterday nice sunny day on Trdinov vrh. Start from Gabrje. Path without special features, autumn beautiful and colorful, especially section from Trdinov vrh to Miklavž. At Gospodična lots of water. Excellent strudel with lingonberry topping in hut at Miklavž. Circular return, towards Krvavi kamen and Gospodična was planned, but unwittingly took us to mountain bikers trail, down which we descended to Pendirjevka stream, which is currently quite watery, then along it to starting point in Gabrje. Quite a lot of visitors.

Today to Lovren Lakes from Rogla. East trail to the lakes, return loop on the west trail. Windy, cloudy, no views, but still lots of visitors. Nice water islands in the middle of the brush.

14 days ago from Danica camp in Bohinjska Bistrica along the former ski slope to Kobla. Late start due to morning rain.

Between Ravne and Kobla 3 cows grazing, from here very nice view of entire Bohinj valley, lake and when not cloudy also highest peaks above Bohinj. Lots of flowers, also full of insects interrupting the silence. On the whole path we didn't meet any hiker, except...

Just a few tens of meters after stepping onto the gravel path near Kobla 2, we experienced an incredible encounter. From steep slope 10-15m in front of us a loudly crying roe deer jumped and just meters behind it a lynx. In a moment they crossed the road and disappeared. The noise they made vanished instantly. Pure adrenaline!

We called hunters who confirmed they released a lynx pair there a few years ago. With a slightly uneasy feeling we continued on increasingly solitary path. A bit higher a fox crossed our path on former pasture below pass, on return at same spot two more.

Soon after we reached pass between upper chairlift station and Krevl, full of blueberries there. We stopped and picked some blueberries. Path continues very nice, scenic and well trodden. Thinking we were heading to Kobla summit we reached wonderful panoramic ridge and shortly after its top, which should be Krevl but has stamp for Kobla summit too.

From there really nice view all around. To Primorska, even sea visible, towards Črna prst, peaks above Soriška planina and Bohinj. Highest peaks wrapped in clouds, but occasionally part of Očak revealed with snow from previous day.

Return same path, but through Ravne village on road.

Path otherwise unremarkable, occasionally less traceable, interesting and scenic. Bohinj shows in completely different light. Probably unrepeatable, as one rarely meets a lynx in nature, especially lynx on hunt.

Yesterday from the Scout Environmental Center to Rog peak. Path without features, well marked, short. At the top a wooden tower offering nice view. Met quite a few hikers. Also some flowers along the path. On return refreshment in Rudniško Lake.

On Sunday, 6. 7. 2025, from Savica to the hut on Komna and further via Planina Govnjač to Veliki Bogatin. Planina Govnjač is deserted, full of flowers, gentian prevails in the head of the valley. We didn't go via the shortcut, but along the path on the edge of the valley. The path disappears in places, but it presents no problem. With the ascent, increasingly beautiful views accompanying you all the way to the top of Mahavšček. Very windy at the summit, otherwise great viewpoint. Weather changing, but no rain. We didn't meet anyone on the path except observed two marmots, one of which wasn't in a hurry anywhere. Even snow in one cirque, which is obviously a fixture on this path.
Circular return via Bogatinski sedlo to the hut below Bogatin, where we ate a tasty lunch and were the only guests. Interesting and beautiful path.

On Saturday, 5.7.2025 on Slatna and Kreda, two grassy two-thousanders. From Dedno polje along Dolina Za Kopico and unmarked path to the tops. Return same way.
Early July here is a real botanical paradise, lots of flowers. Especially lots of edelweiss and black crowberries on pathless slope just below Slatna summit. From junction with main path met only a group of 8 hikers, otherwise alone on summit, well, we spotted one marmot. Although Kreda is a bit lower, it has a more pronounced high alpine position. Views to surrounding peaks are wonderful. Also far down to pasture V Lazu. On return accordion playing at pasture pri Jezeru. Caught a nice sunny day.

Today on Mali and Veliki Snežnik. Path from Ilirska Bistrica to Sviščaki fully asphalted. Along the path a real botanical paradise. Really lots of flowers, full of wild orchids, golden lilies and even lady's slippers we found. At the hut lots of visitors. Return circular via Mali Snežnik to starting point. Temperatures up there much more pleasant. Path to Mali Snežnik mostly well cleared. It was a nice day.

Yesterday first time to Lisca. Start Breg. Very few hikers, full before Tonček's hut. Interesting and beautiful places. Quite a bit of the path in shade, which was very welcome at high afternoon temperatures. Summit panoramic, just below it full of flowers, wild carnations stood out. .

Last week my husband and I walked Camino Krk. Wonderful experience! The island of Krk offers plenty of diverse paths and places, flat walking and real hill climbing. Spring time is pleasant for walking, lots of flowers, and the sea even allows short refreshments.

We started in Krk town, parked the car at the large parking lot in front of Konzum and stayed 6 nights at the following locations: Linardići - Malinska - Omišalj - Soline - Vrbnik - Baška. We booked accommodations one day in advance via booking and all were excellent.

The backpack was quite heavy, between 10 and 11kg. We checked store opening hours and locations in advance and adjusted food purchases accordingly.

At the start of the path the weather forecast wasn't very optimistic, but we experienced only one windy-rainy day, otherwise sunny, occasionally cloudy, with pleasant temperatures.

We didn't have hiking poles with us and didn't miss them either. We discovered many new corners on Krk and fully enjoyed solitude and lively bird song. We met only rare individuals on individual stages. Locals know Camino quite well and are very friendly.
