21.9.2013 we wanted to descend via Via Italiani, but the ferrata itself looked still snowy in some sections (exactly like the Italian route on Mangart - slippery rocks, snow on path - great caution needed). When we descended the path to bivouac Nogare, we saw we had made the right decision. Snow was present already at the entrance to the ferrata. My opinion is that it could be done on the ferrata, but one would pay more attention to oneself than enjoy the descent itself.
