Company Didi d.o.o. has decided to "lock" the web camera and thus has disabled the free view of what the weather is like on Katarina, or in the surrounding hills. OK, it's their property and they can afford it, without having to ask anyone. The fee is not high, although I don't fully understand what it means if you pay 1€, is it then permanent access or what?
Since I often jump to Polhograjska Grmada, they have essentially closed my eyes with this action, namely, the camera often helped me decide whether to go or not. In addition, payment of the fee for the camera is only possible via Moneta, whose activation requires paying a membership fee.

When snow melts, the tower will be nicely drilled and scraped again due to unavoidable selfies and still lifes with crampons stuck in the roof....

Tomorrow and day after tomorrow, 18th and 19th May, Mojčin hut on Vitranc OPEN.
Last snow today's sun and higher temperatures successfully melting it, so tomorrow maybe patches here and there.
Towards Ciprnik not much left either so ascent to it no major obstacle, no extra gear needed.

Upcoming weekend, 11th and 12th May, Mojčin hut on Vitranc will be open. This time we won't be cooking goulash, but you can taste all other goodies we offer.
Snow that fell last Sunday is melting well and by Saturday there won't be much left, so the approach is possible from Kr. Gora as well as from Jasna and Planica, same for Ciprnik.

How much "arguing" and nonsense, everyone knows best what to use, right? If someone thinks 12-tooth crampons are suitable, let him put them on; if "Šmarnogorske crampons" are enough for someone, then let him put them on and the debate is over.
The only thing I agree with is that for the ascent from Rudno polje past the cable car and Plesišče, an ice axe really is not needed; if someone likes carrying it, let him have it.

Saturday, 21.5.2016: Path partially bare, mainly from the hut at Zelenica onwards need to cross quite a few snowfields. Caution in the morning when snow at the edge of snowfields is fully icy and sweeps you away easily. Watch on grassy slopes, even late afternoon still several spots despite sun covered with morning slush and very dangerous for slip. Crampons yes or no, let each decide themselves. Had them with me but didn't use, cursed myself badly after descent....

What about this last snow, if I know anything, the ključavnice (narcissuses) were practically right before blooming....did the midweek snowfall destroy them and we won't get to admire them this year?

Great news, the webcam on Katarina is accessible to everyone again. For me personally it often means the deciding factor whether I go or not, especially in the autumn-winter period and early spring.

Dom na Komni is open all the time, regarding conditions I don't know what interests whom, generally we know there is very little snow.
