Branee. Info from yesterday on Storžič from the valley (Laško): path partially snowy, in the morning at 7 a.m. icy but to Kališče went without crampons but carefully! From Kališče onwards no way without crampons and ice axe (up there around 20 cm). On the way back at 1 p.m. even with crampons despite southern snow more than half the path to the valley due to high risk of slipping, during the day snow melts at night it freezes. Not much mud. In the high mountains it is still winter!
Info not exactly for your direction, but I assume conditions do not differ from those mentioned in your case too. Hope the info helps. LP and safe steps!

path snowed already from valley so walked it fully with crampons..snow partly fragile and blown otherwise iced on exposed sections. track nicely trodden but narrow (crampons sticking in gaiters) snow in valley around 20cm up to 70cm towards top, top bare due to wind but in my case just whistle of breeze so stayed 1.5h and enjoyed views

I use crampons as Zebdi mentioned and they are praiseworthy (quality, price, usability)
definitely recommend.

I'm wondering if anyone has recent fresh info on how it is with the ascent to Debela peč because on Thursday a winter ascent is planned and I don't want to break fresh tracks on the paths?
