Thanks for all the tips, it's clear you know the path well or have a good memory... I'm the more cautious one of the pair, my buddy has done some courses; he's an alpinist trainee and to me seems a bit crazy (as usual for that trade), on Saturday he's going to ski Mojstrovka. Otherwise I have quite some experience with winter ascents, usually I've gone in the framework of larger organized groups with experienced guides, last year and this year more with buddies, though nothing so serious. Mostly I've gone in 'spring' months, when the snow was mostly predictable and reliable, in these months though I don't really have a feel for snow and always prefer to ask and check some other opinion on conditions, that's why I meant to ask more about the snow condition and suitability than about anything else, although your path tips are very welcome and useful. I have no issues with turning back, it's almost always proven right, and Sedlo is a really nice destination anyway. Anyway, we'll see.

Were you over the Roof? Buddy and I are thinking of going next week, though smaller precipitation is forecast for Saturday... In principle probably no problem, with all gear and a certain measure of caution? This winter I haven't yet been in the mountains, except about a month ago on Turski and Brana, but even that was just icy snowfields on the shady side and a drifted path (from Okrešelj), and of course quite icy Turski gully. Now it seems quite a bit more snowy... On Grintovec I've been twice in summer, but never in winter yet.
