Železje is 709 meter high peak located in the Julian Alps mountain range. The peak is located 3 km south-southwest of peak Mahavšček. The nearest mountain hut is Planinski dom pri Krnskih jezerih, located 4km north-northwest. Closer is hunting cottage Lovska koča pod Osojnico, which is located 0.1km to the north-northwest. East-northeast of the summit is the valley Bohinj.
