Veli hrib is 205 meter high peak. The peak is located 1.9 km southeast of peak Markovec / S. Marco. The nearest mountain hut is Rifugio Mario Premuda, located 16km northeast. Closer is Lovska družina Izola, which is located 3km to the west-southwest. Northeast of the summit is the valley Valle dell'Ospo.
