Description:
Sonnwand is 2852 meter high peak in the Zillertal Alps. The peak is located on the border between the country of Italy and the country of Austria. The nearest mountain hut is Kasseler Hütte, located 6km west. A little further is bivouac Neugersdorfer Hütte. 3 km west from the summit there is glacier Grasleitenkees, 5 km east-northeast from the summit there is also glacier Rauhkofelkees.
