Schnurschrofen is 1900 meter high peak and is part of the Allgäu Alps. The peak is located 1.4 km north-northeast of peak Gaishorn. The nearest mountain hut is Obere Roßalpe, located 0.7km southeast. A little further is Mittlere Stuibenalpe. The peak is located southwest of the valley Tannheim valley.
