Description:
Obersam is 2419 meter high peak and is part of the Rieserferner Group. The peak is located 1.7 km east-northeast of peak Kleines Mandl. The nearest mountain hut is Patscher Hütte, located 3km north-northeast. A bit closer is bivouac Schießstand Jagdverein St. Jakob, which is located 2km to the north-northeast. 5 km northwest of the peak there is lake Sankt-Josef-See. 5 km west-northwest from the summit there is glacier Lenksteinferner - Vedretta di Sasso Lungo, 6 km west from the summit there is also glacier Hochgall Ferner - Vedretta di Collalto.
