Hoher Ifen is 2230 meter high peakon which a cross stands and is part of the Allgäu Alps. The peak is located on the border between the country of Austria and the country of Germany. The nearest mountain hut is Schwarzwasserhütte, located 3km south-southwest. A little further is hunting cottage Jagdhütte. South-southeast of the summit is the valley Kleinwalsertal.
