Großer Widderstein is 2533 meter high peakon which a cross stands and is part of the Allgäu Alps. The peak is located 3 km south-southeast from the center of Baad and 4 km northeast from the center of Schröcken. The nearest mountain hut is Widdersteinhütte, located 1.0km southeast. And Stutz-Alpe is also close by. North-northeast of the summit is the valley Kleinwalsertal.
