The saddle is located in country Austria 2 km east-northeast from the center of Nesselwängle and 4 km west-northwest from the center of Winkl. The nearest mountain hut is Schneetal Alm, located 1.0km south. A little further is Tannheimer Jugendhütte. 9 km northeast of the saddle there is lake Alpsee. The saddle is located above the valley Raintal. The saddle is located below the ridge Gimpelgrätle.
