Passo Altar is a saddle at an altitude of 2386 meters and is part of the Natural Park Adamello-Brenta. The saddle is located in country Italy 7 km west-northwest from the center of Pelugo and 7 km west-northwest from the center of Borzago. The nearest mountain hut is Rifugio Carè Alto, located 2km southwest. A bit closer is bivouac Malga Niscli, which is located 0.9km to the southwest. 3 km northwest of the saddle there is lake Lago di Lares. The saddle is located above the valley Val Seniciaga.
