The saddle is located 5 km east from the center of Traunkirchen and 7 km west from the center of Grünau im Almtal and 1.1 km southeast of peak Hochkogel. The nearest mountain hut is Gasselhütte, located 3km south-southwest. Closer is Gemauerte Stube (Jagdhütte), which is located 2km to the north. The saddle is located east-northeast of the valley Weißenbachtal.
