The saddle is located 5 km west-northwest from the center of Forchach and 6 km north-northwest from the center of Stanzach and 0.9 km southeast of peak Lachenspitze. The nearest mountain hut is Landsberger Hütte, located 1.3km northwest. A little further is Höflis Hütte. The saddle is located above the valley Schwarzwassertal.
