Hintereisjoch is a saddle at an altitude of 3470 meters in the Natural Park Ötztal. The saddle is located on the border between the country of Italy and the country of Austria. The nearest mountain hut is Oberetteshütte - Rifugio Oberettes, located 3km south-southwest. A little further is bivouac Ramolalm. 0.7 km west from the saddle there is glacier Matscher Ferner - Ghiacciaio di Mazia, 0.9 km east from the saddle there is also glacier Hintereisferner. The saddle is located above the valley Matscher Tal.
