Description:
Balkenscharte is a saddle at an altitude of 2242 meters and is part of the Allgäu Alps. The saddle is located 0.3 km south-southeast of peak Fuchskarspitze near the border with Austria. The nearest mountain hut is Prinz-Luitpold-Haus, located 0.9km west-northwest. Melkhütte is a bit further away. Northeast of the saddle is the valley Schwarzwassertal. The saddle is located above the ridge Allgäuer Hauptkamm.
