The government has appointed Uroš Brežan as the new director of JZ TNP

The Public Institute Triglav National Park (JZ TNP) will be led by Uroš Brežan in the next four-year term starting tomorrow, following today's government decision, as stated in the post-session government communiqué.
The government has appointed Uroš Brežan as director of the Public Institute Triglav National Park for a term of four (4) years, specifically from 30 January 2026 to 29 January 2030, with the possibility of reappointment, as stated in the government's communiqué after today's session.



"In appointing the director of the Public Institute TNP, the government followed the opinion given by the Board of the public institute, which considered candidate Uroš Brežan suitable for appointment to the position of TNP director. The government took into account his professional competencies and long-term experience in the field of nature conservation and spatial management. An important role was also played by his in-depth knowledge of environmental challenges and the local area, which he acquired as the long-term mayor of the Municipality of Tolmin," the communiqué further states.
