The snowpack is well transformed, bonded and stable. At night, the snowpack will freeze only in the highest parts of the high mountains. During the day, snow will be softened everywhere, the zero isotherm will be at an altitude of around 2700 m.
Ridges are already quite bare even in the high mountains, there is relatively little snow for this time of year. In the afternoon, a shower or thunderstorm may form in the mountains, snow will fall only on the highest peaks of the Julians.
Weather
In the morning there will still be some clear skies, but it will cloud over everywhere in the forenoon, so the peaks will often be in fog. In the afternoon, showers and even thunderstorms will start forming from the northwest. At midday, the temperature at 1500 m will be around 8 °C, at 2500 m around 2 °C.
Outlook
Precipitation will spread during the night to Wednesday. Snow will fall only on the highest peaks, a light wind will blow in the high mountains. At night, the snow line will lower.
The danger of snow avalanche release will temporarily increase. New snow will pose a problem only in the highest parts of the high mountains. There, 10-20 cm of new snow will fall. Lower down, smaller wet snow avalanches or even a glide avalanche may release.
