A five-member family got lost below Mangart, but mountain rescuers from Bovec found them on the mountainside after two hours of searching. The family had been missing since 18:00.
The five-member family set off from the hut around half past ten in the morning, hut caretaker Vanda Cuder told 24ur.com. "They were heading to Mangart, but it got delayed a bit. It could be fog, or they might have strayed," Cuder added.
The hut keepers notified the administration for protection and rescue just before 18:00 about the missing family. Mountain rescuers from Bovec arrived at the hut around 19:00 and set out to search for the family, who were probably lost.
Nova Gorica police confirmed at 21:00 that mountain rescuers had encountered the missing family on the mountainside, and they descended in their company via the Italian side of the mountain.
